Project Description

Victorian Cottage Refurbishment

Having known the client for a few years through business networking, we were thrilled to be asked to help her and her husband with the remodelling of their newly purchased period property.  The client had moved from a very old property with a traditional decor and was keen for the interior of her new house to be more contemporary yet still sit comfortably with the Victorian cottage style.  The client and her husband love to entertain and family gatherings are frequent so it was important that the kitchen was a social space and that there was space in the dining room for an extendable table for bigger occasions.   Bespoke fitted furniture painted in the same colour as the walls provided valuable yet discrete storage in the sitting room, master bedroom and under the stairs.  Re-upholstered antique pieces gave interest and character to the scheme and with careful fabric choices worked beautifully with the new furniture.  The neutral background palette made the most of the proportions of the cottage and promoted a sense of space and flow from room to room.  The accent berry colours feature in all but the master bedroom which is decorated and furnished in putty greys, off whites and heather accents.”
