When it comes to interior design for the healthcare industry we know that understanding the needs of residents and carers is key whether it’s a nursing home, an Extra Care scheme, a hospice or a dementia care facility. Designing with this in mind we create warm and inviting, practical and inclusive schemes, environments which people want to spend time in.  As well as designing with sensory and cognitive decline in mind, Jacqui is trained in Applied Colour Psychology and applies these principles within her designs.

Sourcing from our wide range of suppliers we ensure that the end result is a unique design enabling you to stand out from your competition. We can work on a room-by-room basis or provide you with a whole property redesign, offering fresh ideas and innovative products that prove practical schemes need not be dull. And if you are looking for help with promoting your new care home or selling your Extra Care apartments, we can style and dress rooms for you.

To date we have worked on new build and refurbishment Healthcare projects throughout the UK, primarily in the South East and South West. Recently completed projects include care homes in Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Kent as well as a new build residential care home in Oxfordshire and a nursing and dementia home in Suffolk.

How We Work

We would arrange to come and see you to understand the needs of your residents, discuss your vision for the project and your budget. At this meeting we would also show you examples of our work and talk you through the design process from initial concepts, detailed designs through to issue of schedules, fit out and styling.

Following this initial meeting we would then send you a fee proposal reflecting the scope discussed at the meeting.  Once engaged we would work on the initial interior design concepts which we would then present to you at a further meeting.  Taking on board any feedback, we would then work on the detailed designs before presenting you with schemes for each area.  Presented on boards these would include furniture plans, fabric samples, lighting, artwork, accessories and flooring.

With new build projects, we are able to add value from the early stages working closely with the architects, construction teams and the employer’s agent.

Testimonial from Project Manager

In our capacity as Employer’s Agent, we worked with HomeSmiths on both the Montgomery Court Extra Care and Bonney Court sheltered housing schemes for West Kent Housing Association. Our role was to co-ordinate the implementation of the interior design schemes prepared by HomeSmiths with each contractor. Throughout this process we found HomeSmiths to be extremely professional whilst remaining very approachable and easy to work with. Both schemes benefited from the quality of the interior design. We would not hesitate to work with them again.
