Aubergine & Cream Sitting Room

This north facing room was lacking natural light, had been decorated in cool colours and as such was seldom used. Our brief was to use existing furniture where possible yet with new wallpaper, flooring, paint colours and soft furnishings create a warm and inviting space which would be used for pre-dinner drinks when entertaining and relaxing in the evening. The wisteria design wallpaper is Anna French and the silk curtain fabric from Linwood. The sofas were recovered in a Linwood chenille and a ribbed Romo velvet was used for two new balloon back chairs. The client especially loved a Mulberry silk embroidery which we used for scatter cushions on the sofa to bring together all the rich colours of the scheme. The client has since moved and loved the scheme so much that they recreated it in their new home.
