Project Description

East Sussex Country Home

Having worked with this particular client before we were thrilled to be asked to help them redesign their new home.  The interior style of their last home was very contemporary but the style and location of their new house demanded a different approach.  The brief was that the scheme should be fairly neutral with soft accent colours throughout, elegant in style and restful.  With this property the client inherited a beautifully spacious entrance hall yet the existing staircase was clumsy in design and completely incongruent with the elegance which the client wanted to achieve and the extensive use of oak made the house feel far too rustic.  The bespoke walnut staircase which we designed and had Wood & Wisdom build works perfectly in the space and sets the tone for the dining room, drawing room, family room, playroom, office and kitchen which all lead off it.  The bedrooms all follow the same soft palette.  The master suite features a dressing room and a large en-suite, the layout of which we turned on its head to make much better use of the space. Furniture included by The Design Net, Wychwood DesignMichael Northcroft and lighting included by Bella Figura, Porta Romana and Heathfield & Co.
