Cedar Court (Ash Close), Extra Care Refurbishment
The Cedar Court Extra Care refurbishment was for an existing housing scheme for young adults with learning difficulties which had been damaged by fire. On this particular project for West Kent Housing Association Jacqui applied her colour psychology skills, specifying a blend of blue/green in the communal areas for a peaceful, relaxing tone and then orange in the dining area as it is a sociable colour which stimulates appetite.
‘We commissioned HomeSmiths to undertake the complete interior design project for our first brand new Extra Care scheme back in 2013, a 62 unit scheme including a communal lounge, garden room and restaurant. The project featured wall coverings, furnishings, furniture and artwork. HomeSmiths created a scheme with a very modern and contemporary but homely environment throughout. They listened to our ideas and worked with our residents to create the end result. We were so pleased with the finished scheme that we commissioned them to undertake further projects on another new build, and then to refurbish and modernise some of our older schemes. Again they worked with us and each individual client group to achieve fresh, modern, contemporary but homely environments. Through working with HomeSmiths we have created a new and inclusive image for our schemes which we are really pleased with, safe in the knowledge that our residents are also happy with what has been created. HomeSmiths have a full understanding of meeting the needs of the client and using their expertise to create fantastic settings.’
