Green Park Village in Reading is a new development set in 60 acres. It offers a variety of housing, retail and commercial spaces as well as a school and Extra Care apartments. Working with the developer, St Edwards and HomeGroup, we were the appointed designers for the interior of the Extra Care scheme, Huntley Place which included the design and fit out of the sales arena. The show apartment has been designed using smokey blues, burnt orange and neutrals, a palette not dissimilar from the living area in the main development. Accessible and inclusive design does not mean that a living space cannot still be elegant. Minimal visual contrast between adjacent flooring surfaces and then charcoal grab rails in the wet room making them easy to see, ensure that the apartments support independent living and are easy for a person with deteriorating sight to live in.
