SBID Awards 2018 Finalist – Fairfield Residential Care Home is an independent care home for the active elderly located in North Oxford. In July 2018 they moved into a brand new home that was built in the grounds of the original Fairfield, which had been a home to the elderly for 70 years. We were engaged as the Interior Designers for this new project with a brief to design a scheme that was warm and welcoming for the residents, that would appeal to visitors, especially the younger generation who would be invited to the home for activities, and that enhanced the beautiful light and airy architectural style of the new home. Since residents would be moving from the existing period Fairfield home to a very modern building, the interior design needed to make that transition as reassuring as possible.  In July 2018 it was announced that HomeSmiths had made finalist in the SBID Awards 2018 with this project in the Health and Wellness Design category.
